Mayor's Message

Welcome to our website at the Municipality of Otter Lake, Quebec.

Kim  Cartier-VilleneuveI am honored and proud to continue representing the municipality for a four (4) year term.

I will continue to work with all councillors ensuring transparency, collaboration and solidarity. It is in this spirit that we will be able to achieve the goals we have set to better serve the citizens of Otter Lake.

Finally, I reiterate the importance of visiting our website for all municipal updates.

The Municipality of Otter Lake would like to invited it’s citizens and organizations to respond to a short survey about their issues, needs and challenges in the municipal recreation area. You will find a questionnaire with 10 questions. The survey result will be presented during the public consultation in the fall of 2019.

Where:   Municipal Dump

Did you know that the Municipality of Otter Lake has by-laws in place that require residents to keep their properties neat and tidy and free of debris.If you need help to dispose of unsightly items, rubbish or derelict vehicles, contact the Municipal office for information.  Note: You can receive cash payment for scrap vehicles. Let’s respect our neighbours and show our pride by cleaning up our property.

COMPOSTING
Did you know the Municipality of Otter Lake currently has a composter at the dump?  Did you know that composting is a great way to help reduce the amount of waste being sent to our landfill sites and helps the environment?  If you are interested in composting please ask Serge at the dump about the new composter and what materials are accepted.  Every little bit helps!

Flooding

Please note that Yates road is currently closed, local circulation only, very high levels of water.

The Municipality has purchased a load of sand and bags should anyone require them, the sand is located behind the municipal hall and bags can be obtained at the Municipal office, 15 Palmer avenue,  outside of office hours you can contact the Road Foreman at 819-598-0612 or the Fire Chief at 819-647-8789 and they will provide you with bags.

The Municipality is working hard in conjunction with the Otter Lake Fire Department to ensure the safety of our citizens.  If you require assistance please contact us
(819-453-7049) and we will do what we can to help you.  There is more rain in the forecast so everyone must prepare for conditions to worsen, be safe everyone!

The Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais is offering a new English eBook loan service

As we approach the holiday season, the Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais is proud to announce the arrival of a new English eBook loan service is now available to the users of member libraries. This service, made possible by the association between the Réseau BIBLIO de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue-Nord-du-Québec and the Réseau BIBLIO des Laurentides, is supplementing the French electronic book loan service that was implemented at the Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais several years ago. 

Users can now access over a thousand electronic books in English. The collection is set to increase steadily over weeks and months. It is possible to borrow these documents for a period of three (3) weeks by transferring them to a reader, tablet or device such as an iPod, iPhone or a smartphone using Android technology. Notice to permanent and seasonal residents of the MRC Pontiac,

As part of the implementation of the MRC Pontiac Residual Materials Management Plan, we would like to know your practices with regards to household composting.
Your participation in large numbers is essential, because the information collected will allow your municipalities to recover provincial subsidies related to waste management and composting.


  • Taxes are mailed out! Balances over $300 can be made in 3 installments April 1st, July 1st and September 1st (check or cash only). Interest accrued on unpaid balances is calculated at 18%.

  • Need a permit? Contact the Municipal Building Inspector.
