Welcome to our website at the Municipality of Otter Lake, Quebec.

Kim  Cartier-VilleneuveI am honored and proud to continue representing the municipality for a four (4) year term.

I will continue to work with all councillors ensuring transparency, collaboration and solidarity. It is in this spirit that we will be able to achieve the goals we have set to better serve the citizens of Otter Lake.

Finally, I reiterate the importance of visiting our website for all municipal updates.

The Municipality of Otter Lake would like to invited it’s citizens and organizations to respond to a short survey about their issues, needs and challenges in the municipal recreation area. You will find a questionnaire with 10 questions. The survey result will be presented during the public consultation in the fall of 2019.

Job Offer - Labourer

The Municipality of Otter Lake is looking for a permanent seasonal employee.

Must be mechanically inclined, ability to weld would be an asset, able to operate a chain saw, have a valid driver’s license(class 3 license would be an asset), heavy equipment experience would be an asset, physically fit and be available to work evenings or weekends if required. The employee will report directly to the municipal foreman.

The work will be 40 hours/week (November to March)
Salary to be discussed based on experience and the qualifications of the selected candidate.Probation period: 90 days

Applications must be received at the municipal office, 15 Palmer Avenue, Otter Lake, Quebec J0X 2P0 by Friday, November 29th, 2019 at 4:00PM.

The Municipality of Otter Lake invites its citizens to come and speak during the public consultation on Sunday, November 17, 2019. Participants will be able to share their ideas and their orientations in the development of municipal recreation. Here are the topics that will be discussed:

• The idea of a water park
• Improvements to municipal recreation services
• Additional events
• Revitalization of sports infrastructure

You have until November 8th to register by phoning the municipality at 819-453-7049 or by emailing nveillette@urlso.qc.ca, registration is NOT mandatory but is appreciated so we can prepare sufficient materials and refreshments.  Supervised activities will be provided for children that come with their parents.

Job Offer - Road Crew

The Municipality of Otter Lake is looking for a two (2) permanent seasonal employees.

Applicants must have:

  • a Class 3 license with truck driving experience;
  • willing to work staggered hours including weekends and holidays;
  • available for permanent seasonal position.

Grader and/or loader operation as well as snow plowing experience would be an asset.

Salary to be discussed based on experience and the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Notice of Community Vandalism

Walking Trail Sign Vandalized


During the past week (August 23-30) a sign on R.A. grounds walking trail was vandalized. It was the sign closest to the docks describing the history of Otter Lake. The sign was slashed many times and a piece was removed. See picture below.

We are sending this notice to inform the residents of Otter Lake and ask that you contact the Municipal Office at otter-lake@MRCpontiac.qc.ca or call 819-453-7049 with information concerning this vandalism. Your name will be kept confidential.

Community facilities are for the enjoyment of everyone and any damages reduces your enjoyment and incurs unnecessary taxpayer expense.

As part of the implementation of the MRC Pontiac Residual Materials Management Plan, we would like to know your practices with regards to household composting.
Your participation in large numbers is essential, because the information collected will allow your municipalities to recover provincial subsidies related to waste management and composting.


  • Taxes are mailed out! Balances over $300 can be made in 3 installments April 1st, July 1st and September 1st (check or cash only). Interest accrued on unpaid balances is calculated at 18%.
